The model-actor Daniel Matsunaga lost some of his valuables during a flight from Singapore back to the Philippines.
The actor posted the newsflash on his Instagram account saying "Yesterday night when I was flying back from Singapore to Manila on the flight PR508 someone stole my wallet and all my documents from my bag while I was sleeping. If anyone found it somewhere or knows anybody that can do something about it or help me please feel free to send me an email please at [email protected] I just need my documents, please. The airline didn't do anything about it and it is very sad that things like that can happen inside the plane and they don't have any cameras inside to protect your stuff. Had to enter Ph as a tourist because even my I-card and all was there. #HASSLE" This was the long rant of the model-actor after that ill-fated incident and it just left him scratching his head.
Even his I-card was included in the stuff being stolen which was very important to him because I-card is issued to foreigners like him who intend to stay in the country for more than two months. His things were stolen while he was sleeping during the flight. He pleads with his fans to help him find his documents and express his disappointment to the management of the airline whom cannot even help him with his unfortunate situation. He even includes in his rant that there are no cameras inside the plane that can help the passenger protect their stuff and can solve cases like he is experiencing at the moment. To his dismay, he added the fact that he has to re-enter the country as a tourist and undergo the process of having his permit to stay in the country for longer periods.
This Japanese-Brazilian model-actor has been living in the Philippines for years. Back in 2014, he shared that he is now considered a permanent resident of the country and he is looking forward to becoming a naturalized Filipino citizen. He also emerged as the grand winner of "Pinoy Big Brother: All In" in the 2014 edition of Pinoy Big Brother. After his winning streak in ABS-CBN, he started to appear in some of the Kapamilya shows and eventually lead to his break in the noontime teleserye "Be My Lady" as the leading man of Erich Gonzales.
The two character in the teleserye became real-life couple prior to filming the teleserye. They admitted their relationship in a morning show of ABS-CBN back in 2015. But the relationship did not last long the couple broke up early this year. And ask about the reason for their break up the actor remains mum about. He said that he has nothing against Erich Gonzales and that he respects her and her family.
Recently the actor is being linked up to a 20-year-old model from Poland Karolina Pisarek who finished as runner-up in the fifth season of "America's Next Top Model" Poland's version back in 2015. According to reports that the Polish model is based in the US and that she met the actor Matsunaga in her visit to the island of Palawan. The actor confirmed that they are dating with the Polish model but refused to give further details about his new relationship, explaining that he wants to keep it private this time around, maybe the actor already had enough after the messy breakup early this year with the actress Erich Gonzales. The actor said that "I just want to have it really quiet and masaya (I just want to have the relationship quiet and happy)"
Daniel Matsunaga said he would rather keep his relatively new relationship with his Polish girlfriend away from the public eye. As a celebrity, Matsunaga said the public already knows a big part of his life and he thinks it is just fair to keep some part of it private like his new relationship and he thinks that his fans will understand and respect his decision."Hindi naman sa ayaw ko na pag-usapan, unlike my past relationships. Ayaw ko mag-compare. It's just that gusto ko this time to try something new, to be more private. Sometimes, it's good to be private. Everything is super exposed na sa buhay ko. This time, let's try something different, (It is not that I don't want to talk about, unlike my past relationship. I don't want to compare. It's just that I want this time to try something new, to be more private. Sometimes, it's good to be private. Everything about my life is already exposed. This time, let's try something different.) "He said in his interview.
He added that his polish girlfriend is aware that he is talking about her in his interviews and that she also knows about his past relationships. "She's aware naman. She knows naman, not everything, pero for me, I don't like talking about the past. You live in the present. You live for what you have in the moment and your future. And you pray to God to be in the front of the relationship, (She's also aware. She also knows, not everything but for me, I don't like talking about the past. You live in the present. You live for what you have in the moment and your future. And pray to God to be in the front of the relationship)" he said.
He revealed that he met the polish model girlfriend Pisarek when she came to the country for an advertising campaign that followed another meetup. When asked what it is with Pisarek that he likes the most, he said: "Lahat, 'yung beauty, 'yung inside person niya. (Everything, the beauty, the person inside her)" He also said that he doesn't mind having a long-distance relationship because if you love someone, no circumstances that can stop what you feel towards a person. He is also suggesting that polish girlfriend Pisarek will not be moving to the Philippines anytime soon.
He also assured that he has already moved on from his high-profile breakup with the actress Erich Gonzales. They are now civil to each other and he will also be happy for his ex-girlfriend if ever she finally decides to date again. He said "I am really happy for her. From the bottom of my heart, I just want the best for her."
Back to his unfortunate three-and-a-half-hour flight from Singapore to Manila via Philippine Airlines (PAL). The airline leaves a comment in the comments section to the actor's rant in his Instagram account using the PAL's official Instagram account and addressed it to Daniel saying, "Hello, Daniel. We've sent you a direct message. Thank you." The actor immediately sent his response to the message saying, "@flypal nobody sent me anything yet... I have been waiting for more than one day."
This is not the first incident that a public figure lost valuables in an aircraft. It can be recalled that the actress Anne Curtis loss her amethyst ring that cost $600 in Cathay Pacific flight going to Hong Kong. She left her carry-on luggage, where she put her pieces of jewelry in the plane and when she asks the help of the management to retrieve the bag, she was able to retrieve her bag but sadly one of her priced belong was gone. The airline compensates for the lost ring with a set of Pandora jewelry.
Even the Hollywood star Kim Kardashian lost a price possession of vintage sunglasses given by her late father when her luggage is being ransacked by the bandits in her flight with British Airways. She just found out when she arrived home and notice that her luggage is a bit lighter, included to the things lots was her expensive purses and Tumi luggage.
Even to ordinary people, this things happened not just in the Philippines but also to another country. To the frequent travelers, it is best to look after for their things with value to avoid this untoward incident. And airlines should make amendments to its security to tighten for the safety of the passengers. Especially the overseas worker who bring valuable goods to their family from other country are always prone to this unfortunate events. We can rarely hear their complaints in the mass media but rest assure they do complain and only a few incidents of theft inside the aircraft are being solved.
Hoping that the Philippine airline will help the actor Daniel Matsunaga about his lost valuables. It is truly hassled to lose the papers and proofs to permit his stay and work in the country.
