Nadine Lustre denied that her upcoming movie with James Reid has been shelved as a result of repeated filming delays.
Fans feared that the project was cancelled after its director, Antoinette Jadaone, openly lamented the postponed shooting dates in a blog post she wrote and posted online. During the interview real life couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre in Tonight With Boy Abunda, they assured the fans that their movie will push through despite the movie is still in development. Nadine Lustre said "Tuloy na tuloy." She also took the blame for the delays, sharing that she has been dealing with health issues as a result of her finding out that she has an inverted cervical curve in her neck and scoliosis. "Super sakit siya, (It is super painful)" she said.
Earlier this week, the director of the movie Jadaone first brought to light her frustrations about the "erratic" shooting dates for a film project she did not name, but which many have speculated to be "Never Not Love You" with Lustre and Reid. "Sayang, andun na ang momentum eh," the filmmaker wrote. "More and more shooting days cancelled some reasons more heartbreaking than others, so heartbreaking they make me cry. (What a waste, the momentum is already there," the filmmaker wrote. "More and more shooting days cancelled, some reasons more heartbreaking than others, so heartbreaking they make me cry.)" Jadaone did not specify which film she is referring to, only using the hashtag “foolishmovie.” She, however, had used this same hash tag in earlier blog posts on a film project starring James Reid and Lustre, before it was officially titled “Never Not Love You” in late December 2017.
In a tweet of the director in her twitter account, Jadaone brought up a similar topic: “Woke up to know pack up ang shoot bigla. Now what to do today?” From the twitter account Tonette Jadaone, Tonette@tonetjadaone said “Woke up to know pack up ang shoot bigla. Now what to do today? Pwede bang ngayon na lang gig ni Ebe huhuhu (Woke up to know that the shoot is pack up all of the sudden. Now what to do today? Is it possible that the gig of Ebe today?)” Jadaone further wrote that perhaps she should just channel her energies towards another project to make her heart flutter again. “Maybe it’s time to re-visit Project Bold star or Project Soul mate. Tutal ang tagal nang nasa baul. Baka hinog na,” she continued. “Mabuti na ‘to kaysa kain lang ako nang kain habang nabuburyong, ‘di ba?” (…Anyway those projects have long been shelved, they may already be ripe now. [Revisiting them would be better] than me just eating out of boredom, right?) Some replies to the tweet noted that “Never Not Love You” was the most recently announced project of Jadaone, who also worked with Reid and Lustre in “On the Wings of Love” and “Till I Met You.”
A day after the filmmaker Antoinette Jadaone’s blog about the an unidentified, troubled film project circulated online, Nadine Lustre, whose last announced big-screen project is with Jadaone, took to Instagram with a cryptic post of her own. The Instagram story from Lustre’s personal account shows a spinal X-ray, with the text: “Diarrhea, fever, severe back pain since last Friday. That’s all you need to know.” Followers of the 24-year-old actress were quick to speculate that the post had something to do with Jadaone’s blog entry titled “anti-climactic,” in which she referred to the “erratic” filming of a project. Viva Films, the producer of “Never Not Love You,” has yet to release a statement responding to speculation on the film’s supposed delay. However, Viva Artists Agency, which manages Lustre's career, re-posted the actress' Instagram story about her health, captioning it with: "Loud and clear. Get well soon, Nadine"
James Reid and Lustre’s fan club, WeLoveJadine Official, reposted the pictures in its Instagram account. Based on the images, the star allegedly had to be brought to St. Luke’s Medical Center due to back pains. However, reports from Philippine Entertainment Portal cite other possible reasons for filming delay. As per report, quoted and screenshot texts revealed that the shoot was canceled because Reid allegedly went out partying the night before the Saturday shoot. Apparently, Reid had too much to drink and was too hangover to show up. The Saturday and Sunday shoots were thus canceled. Back in November 2017, it was reported that Jadaone and JaDine would be reunited once again for a new film called “Never Not Love You”. Fans were thrilled when Jadaone uploaded a photo of Reid and Lustre’s forearms tattooed with “ikaw at ako” and “you and me.”
In the same interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" Nadine Lustre bravely opened up about her deep regret over not spending more time with her late brother. "If I had talked to him more or if he had opened up to me, baka in a way I could have changed what happened, (If I had talked to him more or if he had opened up to me, maybe in a way I could have changed what happened)" she said, the note of sadness in her voice underlining just how raw her grief is. Her brother died inside their family home last October. Lustre said that one of the most important lessons she learned was to make her loved ones feel appreciated every single day. "Kasi hindi mo alam kung hanggang kailan lang or kung gaano lang katagal magla-last iyang mga iyan sa iyo, (Because you will not know when or how long they will last or stay with you)" she explained. The actress also shared that she has learned to accept the death, reasoning that "what's meant to happen will happen." Lustre was with her boyfriend, James Reid, for the interview. James Reid said that the painful incident had a profound effect on Lustre, noting that she became more open with her feelings. "I think it's because she kept trying to be strong for her family, for everyone who's looking up to her," he pointed out. "She was really holding her emotions in and didn't want to let them go." He added "And that was one of the things I tried to get out her --na it's OK to feel sad, it's OK to cry and let it out, it's natural, it's just human. I think after that, she really learned to open up and trust me with her emotions, (And that was one of the things I tried to get her out that it's OK to feel sad, it's OK to cry and let it out, it's natural, it's just human. I think after that, she really learned to open up and trust me with her emotions.)"
As the interview aired in the ABS-CBN, Lustre's fans took to Twitter to praise her for her strength in talking about her pain. Here are some of the reactions of the Jadine fans. According to cRAYEzy@JaDinedelions she said “Courageous. Tough. Nadine, you've earned more respect from me. To not falter, stutter between words when asked about your brother's death.. it was apparent you still haven't moved on. But you stood your ground. If it was me? I might have cried an ocean. Hats off. #JADINEtonight.” Another from Aisa N. @Stubborn_Luv she said “I love you Tito Boy! That discussion of her brother's loss was just perfectly gentle and sincere. There were a few moments, I heard Nadine's voice break but with James beside her, she felt comfortable. I admit, it gave my heart a pinch & started to tear up. #JADINEtonight” Another from @hoelyjadine she said “I was about to tear up when nadine was talking about his brother like MY BABY YOURE SO STRONG #JADINEtonight.” This one is from KClaire R@kclaire317 she said “I really admire Nadine speaking of his brother’s loss without breaking down and I admire James being there with her the whole time #JadineTonight” This one is from Vanaleigh Santos @vanaleighdy she said “I really admire Nadine.
