From the start of the tandem of Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap the fans are very supportive to them. The strong chemistry start in their first teleserye "Be Careful With My Heart" that lasted for more than two years.
Now that their new teleserye is airing the actor is very thankful to Jodi Sta. Maria that they are again on the screen as a tandem in “Sana Dalawa Ang Puso.”
According to the actor in one of his interview in the morning show “Magandang Buhay” he said that Jodi is very supportive. “She’s been very supportive ever since the first time we work together until now. She's still the same person, hindi talaga siya nagbabago. And I love her for that as a friend and as a partner in showbiz,” Richard said.
During the celebration of the actress in her 20th year in the show business, Ricahrd Yap surprises the actress and give praise to the willingness and hard work of the actress to finish her studies despite her hectic schedule. "I admire Jodi. She's beautiful person inside and out. She has so much to give into this world and to the industry.
I admire her for her perseverance, 'yung tinutuloy niya ang studies niya kahit pagod na pagod kami sa taping, papasok talaga siya. That persistence will always bring her to new and greater heights. I wish her all the luck in the world. I wish her more and more success in everything that she does, (I admire Jodi. She's beautiful person inside and out. She has so much to give into this world and to the industry. I admire her for her perseverance, which she still continue her studies even if are already exhausted from the taping, she will really go to school.
That persistence will always bring her to new and greater heights. I wish her all the luck in the world. I wish her more and more success in everything that she does,)" according to Richard. The actor even recall that during the taping on their previous teleserye and movie, the actress is bubbly and likes to joke around. "When we are together ganoon pa rin, asaran and share ng pagkain, ("When we are together it is still the same, we like to joke around and share foods,)" Richard said.
On the other hand, the other onscreen partner of Jodi is Robin Padilla, regarded as an iconic action star in local showbiz, with most if not all of his roles on the big screen being a macho, heroic gentleman who can make any girl swoon. While this archetype is true of his character Leo in the daytime series "Sana Dalawa Ang Puso," it's only to some extent. His love interest, Lisa played by Jodi Sta. Maria, is a steely, no-nonsense boss who lends unique chemistry with Padilla's otherwise familiar onscreen persona.
Sure, Leo, like Padilla's past characters, is combat-capable, rugged and chivalrous, but this time with the unimpressed Lisa having captured his heart, the company concierge doesn't have the upper hand in the blooming romance. Instead, Padilla's character is the one who get "kilig (romantic excitement)," not his leading lady. This has been evident in recent episodes of "Sana Dalawa ang Puso," where Leo lights up at the sight of Lisa, and uncontrollably smiles when his boss says something nice to him for a change.
Unsurprisingly, Padilla's bad-boy looks paired with his romantic excitement moments as Leo have been a constant topic online among viewers of "Sana Dalawa ang Puso." Tweets and comments on producer ABS-CBN's YouTube page range from amusement to clamour for more scenes between Padilla and Sta. Maria.
Earlier this year in one of the interview of Robin Padilla he drew laughter when he told Jodi Sta. Maria to just be careful because of his past tendencies of falling in love with his leading lady. He was even asked if he is still the same actor who easily falls for his onscreen partner. “Hindi po kasi pwuedeng mawala 'yun. Pero siyempre maturity na lang po, hindi na kailangan umabot pa sa ganun. Pero kailangan po kasi talagang mag-deliver ako, (We cannot remove that, but of course we cannot it reach to that point. I also need to deliver)” he said.
He explained that he is the “old school” type, Padilla said: “Kailangan nararamdaman ko 'yung gagawin ko. Hindi ko kaya 'yung pipitik lang dahil magaling ako sa workshop or ano. Hindi po ako ganun. Kaya pasensya ka na Ms. Jodi, ganun talaga. Mag-ingat ka na lang. Doble ingat ka na lang. Bantayan mo na lang Richard. Bantayan mo na rin ako, (I need to feel what I’m doing. I cannot make it like you will just close your eyes because I’m good in workshop or what. I’m not like that. So, forgive me Ms. Jodi, it is just like that. Just be careful. Be more cautious. Watch for her Richard. And also guard me)” he added, bursting into laughter.
Padilla was also asked if he thinks it is possible for him to be attracted to Sta. Maria if he isn’t married and the actress isn’t in a relationship. “Sa akin po, sa edad ko po talaga, bulag na lang po ang siguro ang lalaking hindi iibig kay Ms. Jodi. Malaki ang diperensya nun kapag hindi mo na siya inibig. Pero ang pag-ibig na iyan, may boundaries na. Mahirap na walang boundaries,” he said.
Moreover, with the blossoming friendship of the cast of the “Sana Dalawa ang Puso ko”, in real life the leading lady Jodi Sta. Maria found a true friend to the new partner of her ex-husband Pampi Lacson. Iwa motto is the partner of Pampi now and she describe Jodi as real friend. In an episode of the morning show “Magandang Buhay” Jodi shared how Iwa is thankful in their friendship. The “Sana Dalawa ang Puso ko” actress read the letter of Iwa to her. This the message of the letter.
"Amor, thank you for being such a great friend. I'm happy to have you in my life. Thank you for the constant guidance. No matter what happens, you know that I am here for you. I love talking to you kahit madalas may mga tulala moments ka. I love how OC you are. Akala ng tao masyado kang seryoso, pero hindi nila alam baliw-baliw ka rin. Nami0miss ko na ang mga knock-knock jokes mo. You are a real friend and this world is a better place because you are here. Happy 20th showbiz anniversary sa iyo. Tara na mag-date na tayo, marami tayong pag-uusapan. I love you, Amor."
And in response to the beautiful letter of Iwa to Jodi, she gave also thank you message to Iwa whom she calls "Madame." "Madame, I love you. Thank you so much for taking the time to write me a very sweet message. Yes, I know marami tayong pag-uusapan, alam mo 'yan," Jodi said with a smile. According to Jodi their friendship started when Iwa gave birth to Mimi, the first child of the couple Iwa and Pampi.
Aside from being delighted and thrilled to witness once more the magic of Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap onscreen, Sana Dalawa Ang Puso offers an enjoyable and amusing potpourri of intriguing plot twists, enchanting banter, even a dose of action, and of course laughable comedic turns and this is due to the inclusion of Robin Padilla in the cast. But most of all, we will see a more remarkable and charming highlight in Jodi’s career as an actress. Rest assure that this series will become part of our late morning TV viewing habit because of this few reasons.
Jodi’s impressive dual role, Jodi Sta Maria give viewers a treat by portraying two characters that are polar opposites, yet in a light, relatable manner. Depicting the simple lass Mona and the high-flying corporate empress Lisa, Jodi will surely capture our hearts daily. It is also the comeback of the tandem JoChard. No one can deny that their onscreen chemistry proven in Be Careful With My Heart was simply spectacular. For a good two years, the morning teleserye Jodi and Richard headlined ruled the ratings, trended on top of social media, and was considered one of the most successful programs of ABS-CBN.
Next, it is the comeback of Robin Padilla in teleserye. Robin’s last teleserye was Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw with Anne Curtis and Kris Aquino aired in January 2013. Sana Dalawa ang Puso is his first in exactly five years and this promises to be an exhilarating and humorous prospect. Always depicted as the everyday man toiling through life’s challenges, Robin takes this even further with a witty, lovable and identifiable persona.
This is his first-ever team up with Jodi. It is also has an endearing story. Having an exact lookalike may be welcoming for some but disdained by others. Teleseryes have often used this as an enthralling story element to astound viewers. But this time, such would give Sana Dalawa ang Pusoone endearing narrative that touches the heart as both of Jodi’s characters, Mona and Lisa, though worlds apart, would have their loves and lives intertwined.
Lastly, what else could make a teleserye work than a formidable cast? This includes the legendary names in the entertainment industry. One such name is one of the most awarded and iconic Filipino actors Christopher de Leon, who was joined by fellow veterans Alma Moreno, Edgar Mortiz, Buboy Garovillo and Carla Martinez.
