Journey to the Grand Finals
Joshua Oliveros hailing from Antique uses his spectacular talent in singing. It was to enhance his parents’ bond. He first caught the attention of Philippines’ Broadway star, Ms. Lea Salonga. He sang “Habang May Buhay” for his blind audition. Seems like it was not enough to impress the other two judges, Sharon Cuneta and Bamboo Manalac, his performance still made it through to the next round.
Oliveros broke down after Salonga picked him to represent her team for the semi-finals. She was blown away with his own version of Yeng Constantino’s hit ballad, “Ikaw.”
During the semi-finals, Oliveros performed “Mama,” by the Smokey Mountains. He dedicated the songs to both his beloved parents. Salonga’s rival coach praised Joshua’s song choice and overall performance.
For the Finals, Joshua Oliveros who is full of talent and hope is called as the “Hopeful Son ng Antique manage to bag the Grand Champion title of “The Voice Kids” season 3. It was held in Resorts World Manila, 28th August 2016 (Sunday).
On the semis, he garnered 56.15 percent of votes and rendered another Yeng Constantino’s track “Salamat.” Hence, Lea lauded his performance and stated that she was proud to be her coach. He also had a remarkable duet with his coach, Lea Salonga and earned praises from everyone.
For the finals, Oliveros scored a high percentage of 38.07 percent of votes tailed by Antonetthe Tismo with 36.69 percent and Justin Alva with 25.24 percent respectively.
Along with the long-lasting title, he took home P2 million, a house and a lot, a recording contract, among other prizes. Oliveros was superbly grateful and couldn’t thank everyone enough.
