As it was revealed, it was actually a $1 million (P53 million) return from abroad has pushed the worldwide box-office off the P590 mark.
It is now the most successful Filipino movie which did not star Vice Ganda, topping at P556 million. It surpasses the total of Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz' "A Second Chance" which was showed in 2015.
As of 7 pm Wednesday, the current gross of the movie is at P591 million overall. Star Cinema announced the good news during a Thanksgiving party. The record has placed the movie just behind the P598 million worldwide record starred by Vice Ganda, "The Super Parental Guardians."
It remains unclear whether it is still the record as it was given the total of last year's "Gandarappido: The Revenger Squad" (another movie by Vica Ganda) was not made public by the Management.
Last report showed that it have gained P571 million. It was the highest-grossing local film domestically.
One thing for sure is that "The Hows of Us" is now the largest Filipino movie of all time which did not feature Vice Ganda.
This movie was a great run by the country's remarkable love team, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. Taking into account of the fact that it was not released in December which is normally the most hectic season for cinema owners.
In the end of August, it was showed in more than 200 cinemas. Thanks to amazing reviews and superbly positive word-of-mouth from its fan, the number skyrocketed to more than 400 cinemas.
One of the promotional campaigns involved the duo to finally admitting in being a relationship. It was also being billed as the final movie have the pair as stars to be directed by the infamous Cathy Garcia-Molina.
