The Next Beauty Queen?
With little doubt in the back of her mind, Ruffa Gutierrez thinks that Lorin, her daughter possesses the quality of becoming a beauty queen.
With the proper guidance (training) and of course after completing college first, her daughter can definitely represent the Philippines in the best way possible.
During Lorin's first endorsement shoot, Ruffa as asked this question and the proud mother revealed that her daughter has no plans so far to join a beauty pageant. Her eldest is totally focused on finishing her studies.
"Napaka-importante na makapagtapos siya ng pagaaral," Ruffa siad. "I want her to make the most of everything that she's learning while she's in high school."
Ruffa also stated that aside from giving Lorin something as a back up just in case her career in the limelight does not flourish, education is definitely an added advantage when one is competing for international crowns.
"Ang importante kasi is iyong may utak eh. Hindi lang iyon focus puro katawan. Second na lang iyon," she elaborated. "Ang importante is what she can do to represent out country."
When asked what advice Gutierrez has for her daughter as she finished as 2nd runner up in the 1993 Miss World Pageant, Ruffa stated: "Be God-fearing, be positive, and be an inspiration to others."
'I won't say no'
Lorin, 14 years old told the reporters that she would not say no if there is an opportunity for her to be either in the entertainment biz or pageantry.
She added that she probably is not going to be able to handle pressures, however, she is willing to take on new challenges.
"If the opportunity comes and if I decide to change my mind, then of course, I'm not going to say no to anything right now because I'm still young. My mind can change pa."
She clearly stated that, she knows her main priorities.
"Super important to finish my studies because if I do, I'll be able to answer more intelligently, which will make me represent the country in a better light."
Lorin also shared her piece of advice she got from her beauty Queen mother, Ruffa:
"To be strong kasi she's the strongest person I know. From that, I learned how not to be affected by other people, how to go through trials, how to depend on God and just trust him when everything seems really bad."
